How to Build a Home on Your Lot with Korndoerfer Homes

Here’s how our build on your lot process works:

1. Get Inspired

Explore the interactive tools on our website such as interactive floor plans, 3D virtual tours, photos and videos to get an idea of which home features fit your lifestyle. View our model homes both online and in person for a closer look. Register with Ryan, our Online Sales Consultant, to get personalized assistance and get your questions answered.  

2. Get Pre-Approved

If you plan to finance your new construction home, meet with one of our preferred lenders early to determine your budget. We’ve established relationships with knowledgeable lenders who specialize in new construction to ensure you have the best experience possible. Knowing your level of investment helps give you the comfort and confidence to begin bringing your vision for a new home to life.  

3. Meet with a New Home Consultant

When you’re ready to begin, contact the Online Sales Consultant to set an appointment for you to meet with one of our New Home Consultants, who will guide you step by step through the home-building journey.  

4. Select Floor Plan & Options

Your New Home Consultant will work with you to assess the buildability of your lot and help you choose a floor plan and layout options that best suit your land and personal preferences. They will also walk you through our included features, helping you understand what comes standard in your new home, and provide detailed pricing to support your decisions.

5. Purchase Agreement

This is an exciting milestone in your journey toward building a new home! By signing the purchase agreement, you’ve made most of the key decisions and are ready to bring your dream home to life. During this stage, you'll go through the contract package details with your New Home Consultant and then get started with the Pre-Construction process.

6. Pre-Construction

7. Construction

Dig day has arrived and construction begins. Your Field Superintendent will provide you with periodic updates and photos as your new home progresses from the early stages of construction up to move-in day. 8. New Home Orientation and Walkthroughs

Your Field Superintendent will guide you through a comprehensive walk-through of your new home, introducing you to its features and systems to ensure you’re familiar with their functionality. During this visit, any final touch-ups or outstanding items will be noted and addressed prior to move-in day.  

9. Move-in Day and Your New Home Warranty

It’s time to do a final walkthrough, get the keys to your new home, and move in! For added peace of mind, our homes include a 1-year complete workmanship and material warranty with dedicated staff to assist you.
